TRUSOAR® was founded in 2015 from a dream to own a small business and offer the highest level of integrity and service while positively impacting our communities and nation. This motivation stems from my proven track record of achieving individual and organizational success while serving in various US Army leadership roles during peacetime and combat operations and managing multi-million-dollar programs for small and large businesses, including Fortune 500 companies.

However, I had to put my business dream on hold as I struggled with many hurts, habits, hang-ups, and worst of all, a double-minded approach to living out my faith. After experiencing a significant mind-body-heart crash resulting in a downward spiral, I decided to get help and my family and I decided to pack up and move from Northern Virginia to North Carolina.

We relocated during the pandemic in the summer of 2020, primarily because it was what we considered perfect timing. Our oldest son graduated in the Spring (although not much of a graduation when you receive your diploma in cap, gown, and mask while riding in a car), and our youngest was transitioning from middle school to High School later in the fall. My parents still live in North Carolina and this relocation transition presented many opportunities to recover from my crash, learn and grow in my faith, rebuild family relationships, and pursue a professional coaching and teaching career.

My struggles continued off and on during the first two years, yet I knew God was continuously at work and preparing me for something greater.​ Passionate about coaching, I continued learning and growing in mastering life, leadership, and strengths coaching skills. Resilience also became a focus, so I enrolled in a Resilience Coaching skills class at the International Christian Coaching Institute (ICCI). Likewise, I completed Life, Leadership, Work Teams, and Group Coaching at the Professional Christian Coaching Institute (PCCI). Both institutions have contributed significantly to my knowledge of the coaching process and model, which differs substantially from mentoring, counseling, and consulting. Although I value and deliver expertise and solutions as a mentor, consultant, and counselor, my primary service delivery is a blend of coaching and training.

In 2022, I finally decided to launch TruSoar®, and my first step included a partnership agreement with The Wiley Brand, which delivers The Five Behaviors training based on Patrick Lencioni's book, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, as well as Everything DiSC® Assessments. TruSoar® continues to maintain this Authorized Partnership to deliver these services and resell all associated products and tools. Still leaning toward coaching, I studied and became a Strengths Champion Certified Coach® under Brent O'Bannon's Strength Champion Solutions. Brent was the very first Clifton Strengths Certified Coach.

My entrepreneurial and creative desires, no doubt from God, didn't stop with coaching and training. Surprisingly, these desires led me to the Christian retail industry. So, my wife and I decided to open the first Christian retail store in Spring Lake. Three months later, we opened a second store on Ft. Bragg. There is no doubt that God orchestrated all of it. We opened our doors on June 10th, 2022, and plan to expand in 2023. 

 

In God's strength, I completed my doctorate at the end of the same year we launched TruSoar® and Faith2Soar™. I hope to apply my education and life, leadership, and faith lessons in a way that honors and glorifies God. With a single mind focused on serving His kingdom, I can't wait to see how God uses me, our family, and our businesses to encourage and help the people he places in our lives.
